In its opening weekend, "The Exorcist: Believer" reigns supreme at the box office, raking in an impressive $27.2 million in North America.

Facing little competition, the demonic franchise's latest installment outperformed the next three films combined.

Despite its strong start, "The Exorcist: Believer" falls short as the launch of a new trilogy.

"Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie" lands in second place with $11.8 million, bringing its total to $38.9 million after two weekends.

"Saw X" creeps into third place with $8.2 million and a total of $32.6 million after two weekends.

Released near the original's 50th anniversary, this sequel comes after the passing of the original director, William Friedkin.

Directed by David Gordon Green, it stars Leslie Odom Jr. and Lidya Jewett, but critics found it lacking in comparison to its legendary predecessor.

Critics gave it a mere 23% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with some acknowledging its attempt to live up to the original.
